Environmental clearance to commence rehabilitation of the existing Barbados Bay Jetty has been granted. The Certificate of Environmental Clearance (CEC 5449/2018) for “the Refurbishment and Expansion of a Loading Jetty” at Barbados Bay, Studley Park, Tobago was issued to the Study Park Enterprise Limited (SPEL) by the Environmental Management Authority (EMA)on November 12 2018.

This CEC comes under Activity 13a of the CEC Rules which covers coastal or offshore construction or modification and dredging activities.

RJB Building & Civil Engineering Contractors Limited was contracted under a design-build arrangement and is now fully mobilised to implement the project on behalf of SPEL.

The estimated completion time for works is mid-January 2019. The jetty is purposed to facilitate the berthing of barges for the transportation and export of aggregate and importation of other construction materials.
